There are several types of wedding suits for grooms to rock these days.  From simple designer wedding suits to a classic wedding tuxedo.

Selecting that appropriate wedding suit style could sometimes get tricky. But the last thing a man wants is to look sloppy beside his stunning bride on their big day. Be it a church celebration or a casual backyard affair, the groom’s wedding suits should always flow with the wedding theme. And more importantly complement the bride’s attire without stealing the spotlight.

Rules for styling wedding suits for grooms:

we should consider the following rules when trying to style a wedding suit

Rule 1:   Fitness is king

Even the world’s most expensive suit will look bad if it’s hanging off your shoulders. Whether you are buying or hiring, get properly measured and ensure that the suit is altered to fit (short sleeves and high trouser kegs aren’t a good look)

Rule 2:    Be bold, not boring

The plain grey suit may seem like a traditional’ wedding wear but that doesn’t mean you have to wear it. It’s okay to show off your stylish side and make a statement with your suit.  Bright colours and garish prints are to be avoided though. The wedding day is a happy day and not a day to look pale. Sharp black or navy blue is cool.

Rule 3:     Embrace the waistcoat

The waistcoat should at this juncture be part of all wedding suit styles.  Fair from being stuffy and old fashioned, the waistcoat is the ultimate accessory for the stylish groom. Cut close to the body and hemmed to the belt line, you’ll look slim and modern.

Rule 4:    Endeavour to fasten the jacket button when sitted, no exception.

Rule 5:.   Never fasten the bottom button of a double-breasted jacket (unless it has only a single row of buttons).

Rule 6: .  When it comes to accessories, less is more. A floral buttonhole, pocket square handkerchief and cufflinks should do the trick. Lose your big, bulky watch and any rings you would normally wear.

Rule 7:.   Once your jacket is buttoned you should be able to fit a fist between the cloth and your chest, no more, no less.

Rule 8:   Lining is the sign of a quality suit. A good suit jacket will feature a fully-lined interior, and this is an easy way to add a flash of colour or reveal a little of your personality. Look out for statement stripes, vibrant hues and on-trend patterns.
